| Downadup Returns – K7 Computing Rescues |
|
Antivirus experts K7 Computing release a free tool for ALL PCs to neutralize Downadup worm, also known as Conficker (or) Kido which is threatening again with a latest updated version to be released on 1st April 2009.
This worm can seriously compromise PC security by blocking access to Security Websites (like K7 Computing, Symantec, McAfee etc), disabling Microsoft updates and Windows Security Centre, terminating Security Applications, and add markers for future use by malware and updating itself automatically. The nature of the latest update of this worm is unknown yet. It may cause havoc by launching Denial of Service attacks on various websites including Security websites, attack government infrastructures, spread new malware, send out deluge of SPAM, steal password, credit card, private & confidential information and destroy all data in a PC. Andrew Lee, CTO of K7 Computing said, “although Conficker is hitting the headlines, it should be remembered that the threat of malware is a constant one, people should make sure they are properly patching their operating systems and maintaining updated anti- virus products, otherwise they will be exposed to malicious software of all types” K7 constantly work to ensure our customers have the best protection possible, in this case, as there are many people worried about the worm, we’re happy to offer a free tool to help those who weren’t protected clean their systems. Since the worm can block access to popular sites, we’ve also made the cleaner tool available on a secondary website to ensure that it can be reached easily. If a PC is infected and not able connect to www.k7computing.com then the user can visit www.CheckFick.com and download the FREE Downadup Removal Tool.
